HOW DOES THE PROGRAM WORK?
The Program is monthly/level based where in you can pay for a month and get 4hrs or 8hrs, which means either you can code for an hour a week or 2hour a week in a month. Instead of making it Instructor led class, every student have a folder with assigned work for the month.
All the Projects and its related instructions are given in the folder in clear and legible format [The soft copy of the Folder is also available on their system so that if there is any link, video or picture, they can access it immediately]. The kid must sign in and pick up his named folder and grab a Laptop and start working on his Projects. Using this approach, the student works at his own pace without any peer pressure.
Each folder is designed keeping in mind student interest and his/her learning capabilities.
HOW AN HOUR GOES
Typically, in a class, we want a student should practice on his typing skills for initial 5 min., then a brush up of previous concepts if any, then comes that day’s project. [Note: All the curriculum is custom made for each student after understanding his/her interest and level.]
At the end there is a review of the concept learned and a write up for the student, to tell about that day’s class and what they want to learn next.
Whatever concept the student learns in a day, using the same concept, there are many practice projects which the student must build on his own with Instructor support, if required. A minimum of 1-2 practice projects should be done by the student to build a clear understanding of the concept.
Students are also allowed to take a 5-10 min break in-between if they want, to freshen up.
Our main aim is that the student should be looking forward for that ‘Hour’ every time he comes. That’s the reason we will keep working on the student to find his interest and keep modulating the projects according to his/her choice, while not losing the focus in building the overall skillset.
WHY THIS KIND OF APPROACH
There are many reasons behind this kind of an approach…. It’s been seen most of the times student wants to work on their own, they mostly are intrigued towards the system. The students in a class are of varied age groups with different level of understanding and putting them under the same umbrella is like hampering their productivity. We should understand every student have their own pace of learning, some kids grasp ideas very fast some very slow, some needs more practice of a concept, some wants extra support, some are more aggressive while some gets bored easily. This model will cater to all the above kind of needs.
There is a 5:1 ratio of student & instructor so whenever a student wants helps the instructor is always available.
All courses are Project based wherein each project involves some or the other new concept.
